Teleport services

The Russian satellite telecommunications operator Isatel, a company of Intersputnik Holding Group, offers Russian and international telecommunications operators and corporate customers a technological platform to set up a satellite network and provide telecommunications services. This solution includes a Teleport and Operations Service and addresses the following tasks:

Moscow multifunctional teleport

  • Lease of dedicated channels connected to major switches in Moscow such as the M9 point of presence and points of presence of a number of ISPs and VoIP providers;
  • Access to various geostationary satellites and leasing of space segment capacity;
  • Connection of remote offices of corporate customers to the head office in Moscow;
  • Provision of the Teleport resource for satellite reception and transmission;
  • Satellite-to-satellite traffic switching, retransmission of broadcast channels;
  • Hot standby equipment and 24/7 customer support;
  • On-line monitoring of operational networks and leased frequency and power resources;
  • Lease of equipment room resources, connection to the internet, public telephone networks and VoIP.

The Teleport is equipped with eight antennas: four 3.8 m systems operate with the Express АМ1 in Ku band and Express AM44 in С band. Isatel’s 4.8 m antenna is available for dual-polarization service in Spot 1 and Spot 2 of the Intelsat-904 satellite in Ku band. An antenna is about to be brought into use for ABS-1 (75E00) in C band. Also, Isatel leases earth station resources from its partners (7 m and 5 m C-band antennas) under several major projects. If necessary, all teleport antennas can be re-pointed to any spacecraft with the required coverage or re-tuned to Ku or C bands.

Operations Service

  • 24/7 customer support;
  • monitoring and remote control of customer satellite networks;
  • installation and maintenance of customer earth stations.

Isatel’s teleport monitors the satellite radio spectrum in Intersputnik’s interests. The available computer-based monitoring system gathers and processes data on carriers in the transponders leased by Intersputnik to its customers.

Carriers are monitored using a unified earth station and carrier database to check the value and periodicity of parameter departures. On-line real-time access to spectrum plots and frequency plans is provided to Intersputnik’s technical service. For faster trouble-shooting, special emphasis is laid on external and intra-system interference analysis. Engineers on duty are always ready to assist Intersputnik’ s customers in adjusting the cross-polarization separation and finding the causes of service deterioration. With the new monitoring system, Intersputnik and Isatel are able to offer their customers a much broader range of services and faster respond to any service quality problems.
