HDTV

With its 1080i and 720p standards, a 16:9 wide screen picture and Dolby Digital 5.1. audio, High Definition Television is the most advanced digital TV technology. HDTV delivers an exceptionally clear and bright picture that has practically the same quality as the 35 mm film plus multi-channel audio.

High definition means that the number of lines and pixels in the video picture is much greater compared to standard definition (SD). While SD has a definition of 720x576 pixels, HD boasts 1920x1080. The number of picture elements transmitted per second is five times larger.

Along with ADSL, satellite television is considered to be the most promising application for HDTV. Intersputnik closely cooperates with broadcasters and system integrators in the filed of satellite HDTV.

Today, Intersputnik’s resource is used for HD news coverage. Projects are under consideration to provide HD uplinking and broadcasting to community and home antennas.
